Therese S. (Fillion) Caron
Therese S. (Fillion) Caron, age 87, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Maurice G. Caron, with whom she shared over 62 years of marriage.
Born in Fort Kent, Maine on May 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Adelard and Victoria (Pelletier) Fillion. She received her early education in Berlin, NH and later attended Leslie College and Newbury College and earned her bachelor’s degree.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as an administrative assistant for the former Wang Laboratories, Bull Electronics and Textron.
Therese was an active parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d’Arc Church and later St. Michael’s Parish. She enjoyed teaching CCD for over twenty five years at St. Rita Parish and St. Michael Parish and had also volunteered in the library at St. Michael School.
Therese enjoyed polka dancing with her husband and making ceramics, but her true love was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving her in addition to her husband Maurice are a daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Paul Durand; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Kim Caron and Roger and Elaine Caron; a son-in-law, James Ohlstein; eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Paul Caron and Christine Ohlstein.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday, May 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Friday morning with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Parish, Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Those attending the Funeral Mass will be asked to meet directly at church. Committal services will be private in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
