Robert D. Cloutier
Robert D. Cloutier, age 92, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Therese M. (Fitton) Cloutier for over 68 years.
Born in Lowell on March 17, 1930, he was a son of the late Paul L. and Yvonne (Rondeau) Cloutier. He was a graduate of Ste. Jeanne d’Arc School and St. Joseph’s High School.
He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until his honorable discharge in 1952.
Prior to his retirement, Bob had worked in copy prep for Courier Citizen and later as pre-press for the G & G Printing Company in Wilmington.
Bob enjoyed gardening and woodworking, and always looked forward to family gatherings. He was also a longtime active member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks, the former Ste. Jeanne d’Arc Church and the Parish of Saint Rita.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are three sons, Gerard R. Cloutier and his wife Darlene of Dracut, Donald R. Cloutier and his husband Rev. David Hanks of Lowell and Normand G. Cloutier. Son-in-law Bill Comeau of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie T. and John Aron of Upton, ME; ten grandchildren, Daniel and his wife Dawna Mackland-Rivera, Nicole and her husband Christopher Conderman, Craig and his wife Katherine Mackland-Rivera, Jason Cloutier, Kathryn and her husband Nicholas Campbell, Rachael Cloutier and her partner Jason Britton, Jennifer and her husband John Duquette, Matthew Cloutier and his wife Dr Mengyi Zha, Lisa and her husband Justin Hutzell and Michelle Aron and her fiancé Michael Cormack; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Roger, Rene, Raymond, Richard, Ronald Cloutier, a sister Cecile Carlson and leaves a sister Claire Kluse.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 2 to 5 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
