Marcel Blanchette
Marcel Blanchette, age 91, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Lowell.
Born in Lowell on February 11, 1932, he was a son of the late Tancrede and Emma (Levasseur) Blanchette. He was educated in the Lowell, MA school system and was a graduate of St Joseph high school.
Marcel enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1949 and served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1952.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a longtime member of the Tyngsboro Sportsmen’s Club.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Honeywell-Bull. Marcel was also a volunteer at the Lowell Senior Center. He was a member of St Jean Baptiste Parish in Lowell and St Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell.
He is survived by a sister, Pauline Spanos of Lincoln, NH; a sister-in-law, Patricia Blanchette of Lowell; and ten nieces and ten nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Paul, his wife, Monique and their son, Claude, his brother, Robert, and his wife, Pauline, and his brother Raymond.
Relatives will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. A prayer service including Military Honors will take place immediately following in the Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lowell Senior Center, 276 Broadway St, Lowell, MA 01854.
