Karen A. (Bennett) Windt, 82, of Lowell, Massachusetts, and formerly a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio, and O’Hara Township in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, in Lowell.
Born in Sandusky, Ohio, on September 7, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Wendell and M. Carol (Bush) Bennett. She received her early education in Columbus and graduated from Eastmoor High School. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.
Karen was an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and a devoted patron of the Ohio and Drexel Theatres. A voracious reader with a particular interest in American history and politics, she read constantly well into her 80s. She was also civically engaged, serving as a Democratic party poll watcher in Franklin County for several state and federal elections.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Theodore Windt III and Jodi Jaillet of Lowell, Massachusetts, and by numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Thaddeus Windt, and her brother, Stephen Bennett.
