John Labbe Obituary

John E. Labbe

John E. Labbe, age 59, a resident of Worcester, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was the husband of Coleen Mary (Reardon) Labbe.

Born in Lowell on April 21, 1963, he was a son of Linda (Bossleman) Sobek of Westford. He was a graduate of Lawrence Academy in Groton after attending elementary and junior high school in the Westford school system.

He was employed for 17 years by U.N.F.I. Technology, most recently as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.

As the kids were growing up, John enjoyed summertime camping trips with his family, and more recently, all-inclusive vacations in Jamaica were a highlight. He enjoyed playing darts weekly with his friends. Listening to 80’s metal and classic rock was a passion and he attended countless concerts including those performed by his favorite band, Kiss. John had an interest in battleships and CB radios and in recent years, he became interested in model trains and spent time developing a layout at home.

He loved all the cars he had through the years but John was happiest with his latest, a premium edition 2020 Chevy Impala. He always felt like he had the best car in every parking lot.

During the past year, John was inspired to grow as a person. He was re-evaluating his priorities and practicing mindfulness daily.

Surviving him in addition to his mother and wife are three children, Christina McCarthy and her husband Scott, Jeffrey Labbe and Brian Labbe; his brothers, Mike and Ken and their wives; and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his niece Elizabeth Alice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center & Wildlife Sanctuary, 414 Massasoit Road, Worcester, MA 01604.
