David C. Freitas
Loving son, brother, uncle and friend.
David C. Freitas, age 54, a former resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, passed away on August 24, 2019, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. Born in Lowell on May 18, 1965, he was a son of Paul A. and Florence E. (Gibson) Freitas of Chelsea, MA.
David was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grammar School and St. Joseph High School.
In his younger years, he worked alongside his family at the former Brentwood Bowling Lanes in Lowell and the former Commonwealth House on Nesmith Street, two businesses his family owned and operated for many years. He later accepted a job offer as a production assistant and moved to New York City where he worked on many movies and television shows.
While living in New York he made several friends due to his personality and great sense of humor. Unfortunately, many of those friends died tragically on 911.
Surviving him in addition to his loving parents, Paul and Florence are three brothers and a sister in law, Paul W. Freitas of Farmington, NH, Gary R. Freitas and his companion Martha of Ashby, and Michael C. and Linda Freitas of Lowell; his nieces and nephews, Jacob Freitas, Riley Freitas, Rachel Freitas, Shealy Freitas and Paul M. Freitas; he is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Dana Gouviea; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
In accordance with his wishes, Funeral Services were held privately for his family and burial took place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. Those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
