Albert "Al" M. Bourgeois

DRACUT- Albert M. “Al” Bourgeois, age 76, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 due to his battle with cancer with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne Y. (Lajeunesse) Bourgeois, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage, together for 52 years.

Albert was born in Lowell, on June 8, 1946, a son of the late Albert P. Bourgeois and the late Clairce (Gregoire) Wooten. Al was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1964. He then proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1969 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 17 after many years.

Al was very close with his family and always looked forward to visits with his grandchildren, family dinners and spending time with his sons. He enjoyed conversations with his brothers and sisters. He was always ready to assist his family and anyone in need, whether fixing something for someone, refinishing a piece of furniture, snow blowing a driveway or just giving advice, you could always count on Al to be there. He was involved with his sons and grandchildren during their Scouting years. In his spare time, he could be found reading a good book.

Surviving him in addition to his wife Suzanne are his three sons, two daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Christopher Bourgeois and his wife Kimberly and their children, Gillian and Andrew; Donald Bourgeois; and Michael Bourgeois and his wife Sarah and their children Caroline, Genevieve and Gryphon, all of Dracut. Sister Carmen Dayton of Puyallup, WA; brother Robert Bourgeois and wife Barbara of Micco, FL; sister Priscilla and husband Gene Tant of Martinez, GA; sister-in-law Eleanor Bourgeois of Sebastian, FL; two sisters-in law Denise and Fred Therriault of Barnesville, GA and Celeste and Raul Trochez of The Woodlands, TX; also many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was also the brother of the late Normand, Richard and Stephen Bourgeois.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Sunday, Jan. 22 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite d’Youville, 1340 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut.
