Sister Pauline Marie Gagné, s.c.o, age 91, a member of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa for 68 years, died at D’youville senior Care in Lowell, on Tuesday, July 25, 2018, after a brief illness.
Born in Alma, QC, Canada, on January 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Yves and Yvonne (Harvey) Gagné.
Sister Pauline was educated in Alma and Hull, QC. She received her B.Ed. from Rivier College and her BSN from Lowell State College.
Sister Pauline was a teacher in Ogdensburg, NY and at St. Joseph Elementary School and St. Joseph Regional High School in Lowell. She obtained her RN in 1974 and worked in various capacities at D’Youville Senior Care from 1974 until her retirement in 2008.
She is survived by two brothers, Rev. Guy Gagné of Chicoutimi, QC and Roger and his spouse Hugette (Lavigne) from Boucherville, QC; her beloved godchild, Louise Paradis and her spouse Jean Pierre Charest of Racine, QC.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Rachel Gagnon.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Residence, 977 Varnum Avenue on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a wake service to be held at 7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock in the Chapel of D’Youville Senior Care Center, 981 Varnum Ave, Lowell. Committal prayers and burial will take place on Saturday morning at 10 am in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, the Sisters suggest either a Mass offering or a memorial donation in her name to D’Youville Senior Care, Special Care Unit, 981 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
