Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother

 

NORTH CHELMSFORD – John M. DaSilva, age 62, a resident of North Chelmsford, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Lowell General Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Ann (Fallis) DaSilva. 

Born in Madeira, Portugal, on September 1, 1955, he was a son of the late Francisco and Laura (Freitas) DaSilva.

John was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

During his younger years, he was very active in sports, and to this day he was still an avid fan of all sports. 

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Lowell Association for the Blind.

Surviving him in addition to his wife are a son, Matthew J. DaSilva of Lowell; a daughter, Sara A. DaSilva of North Chelmsford; two grandchildren, Alivia and Lucas; a brother and sister in law, Joe and Ana Silva of Lowell; seven sisters and four brothers in law, Mary Jo Gaspar of Chelmsford, Celeste and George Stanomir of North Chelmsford, Maria and Walter Johnson of Wells, ME, Grace Olson of Wells, ME, Theresa Cosier of Hudson, NH, Isabel and Jose DoVale of Hudson, NH and Bernadette and Russell Flanders of Lowell;  his mother in law, Loretta Fallis; his sister in law, Diane and her husband Eduardo Calhau of Methuen, a brother in law Leonard Fallis and his wife Lidia of Manlius, NY; and also several nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother in law of the late Joe Luis Gaspar, Lawrence Olson and James Cosier.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex St., North Chelmsford, MA.  Burial will be private at a later date.
