Mr. George H. Moore, age 88, a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, passed away on October 25, 2018, at his home after a brief illness.  He was the husband of the late Therese J (Marcotte) Moore who passed away on August 10, 2018.

Born in Lowell on December 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Gabrielle L. (Beland) Moore.

George was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954.

He was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.

Prior to his retirement, George worked as a Head Storekeeper at M.C.I. Concord for many years.

He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball games and he always cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Surviving him are a son and daughter in law, Thomas R. and Michelle Moore of Keene, NH; two daughters, Suzanne T. Melanson and Diane L. Longtin, both of Lowell; his grandchildren: James and Allison Melanson of Merrimack, NH; Justin Melanson of Tyngsboro, MA; Jonathan Moore and Joshua Moore both of Keene, NH; Renee Moore of Government Camp, Oregon and Cassandra and Kyle Burlas of Cincinnati, OH; a brother, Donald L. Moore of Indiantown, FL; a sister, Doris Parent of Indiantown, FL; a sister in law, Gloria Moore of Lowell; and a lifelong friend Norman Lauziere of Dunstable.

He was also the brother of the late Richard W. Moore and Robert D. Moore.

 

MOORE – Mr. George H. Moore. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Parish, Lakeview Ave., Dracut.  Committal services with military honors will follow in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA 01843.  For online condolences or directions, please visit www.martinfuneralhome.net.
