Barbara J. Laplante, age 82, a resident of Lowell, died on Sunday, October 15, 2017, after a brief illness. 

Born in Lowell on December 15, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (Blanchette) Laplante.

She was a parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne D’Arc Church. 

Prior to her retirement, she worked at the former St. Joseph Hospital as a housekeeper.

Barbara enjoyed knitting sweaters, blankets, hats and mittens for her family and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  She loved the holidays, going out to eat, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her family and her longtime caretaker.

A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Heritage Skilled Nursing Center for the many years of remarkable care.

LAPLANTE – Barbara J. Laplante.  In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visiting hours.  Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Road, Lowell.
