Yvonne C. Dion

        resident of Lowell; age 90

Mrs. Yvonne C. (Tanguay) Dion, age 90, a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died on Monday, August 29, 2016, at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Rene E. Dion Sr.

Born in Lowell on June 19, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Annie M. (Provencher) Tanguay.

She was educated in the Lowell school system and was a parishioner of the former St. Louis de France Church.

Yvonne loved bingo, trips to Foxwoods and Hawaii.  She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, birds and going out to eat. 

Prior to her retirement, she worked at Hannaford Market in Lowell and Dracut.  She also worked out of her home as a cake decorator for many years.

Surviving her are four sons and four daughters in law, Paul R. and Denise M. Dion of Lawrence, Donald R. and Christine D. Dion of Deerfield, NH, Rene E. and Annette L. Dion, Jr. of Dracut and Roger D. and Dee Dion of NC; three daughters, Irene R. Dion of Davenport, FL, Ann Marie Y. Dion of Lowell with whom she resided and Renet A. Dion of Methuen; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Robert Tanguay, Gabrielle Lacerte and Therese Methot and the mother in law of the late Roger V. Dion.

DION – Mrs. Yvonne C. (Tanguay) Dion. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitations.  Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Thursday morning, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.   Those wishing may make a memorial contribution to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St., Lowell, MA 01854.  Arrangements by the ROLAND W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell.
