LOWELL - Sister Paula E. Bradley, s.c.o. , age 71, a member of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa for 51 years, died on Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill after a valiant struggle with cancer.

Born in Urbana, IL, on August 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late H. Paul and Estelle (Payette) Bradley.  She grew up in Haverhill and attended St. Joseph School and St. James High School.

Sister Paula taught in Lowell schools from 1966 – 1971, until she began her studies in Nursing at what was then University of Lowell and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Nursing in 1976.  She worked at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell and obtained her M.S. in Nursing Administration from the University of Lowell in 1986.  She was an active member of several Boards at D’Youville Life and Wellness Community and Saints Medical Center.  She served leadership in the Congregation in Several capacities, most recently as treasurer.

She is survived by five brothers, Alan and Sharon Bradley of Woodbridge VA, Kenneth and Cynthia Bradley of Haverhill, Gary and Elaine Bradley of Haverhill, Richard Bradley of Lawrence and his fiancée Margaret Broderick of N. Andover and Thomas and Diana Bradley of Woodbridge, VA;  also several nieces and nephews.

 

 

BRADLEY – Sister Paula E. Bradley,  s.c.o.  Friends may call at St. Joseph Residence, 977 Varnum Avenue on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a wake service at 7 p.m.  Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock in the Chapel of D’Youville Life and Wellness Community, 981 Varnum Ave, Lowell.  Committal prayers and burial will take place on Thursday morning at 9 am in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.  In lieu of flowers, the Sisters suggest either a Mass offering or memorial donations in her name to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by the ROLAND W.
