Roland E. Letourneau

    …WW II veteran; age 94

 

Mr. Roland E. Letourneau, age 94, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at a local heathcare facility.  He was the husband of the late Colombe M. (Marion) Letourneau who died in 2012. 

Born in Chelmsford on October 21, 1920 he was the son of the late Edward and Anna (Ostigny) Letourneau. 

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1946, earning the rank of Signalman First Class. 

Roland was a longtime parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d’Arc Church.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foreman for the Marion Construction Company of Lowell and later was a clerk of the works for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

He is survived by a brother in law, Vincent R. Schiller of Lowell, MA; a nephew, Dr. Neal Schiller and his wife Kathleen of Riverside, CA; a niece, Pearl Joyce and her husband Joseph of Westford; six grand nephews, Jarrod, Ryan, and Evan Joyce, Matthew, Kevin and David Schiller; and two great grandnephews, Finian and Sean Joyce.

 

LETOURNEAU– Mr. Roland E. Letourneau.  It being his wishes, there will be no visiting hours.  Friends are invited to attend a committal service with military honors on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.  Arrangements by the ROLAND W.
