Robert J. Williams

Robert J. “Bob” Williams, age 83, a longtime resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts and more recently of North Fort Myers, Florida, died on September 7, 2016, in Haverhill, Mass.
Born in Haverhill on June 24, 1933, he was a son of the late Andrew J. and L. Edna (McInnis) Williams.
He was a United States Army veteran having served from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958.
Prior to Bob’s retirement, he was employed as a quality inspector by Western Electric/Bellcore for over 37 years.
Bob enjoyed fishing, boating, bocce, traveling, photography and videography.
Surviving him are his companion, Jean Rourke of North Fort Myers, Fla.; his five children, Patricia A. Neals and her fiancé, Edward Austin of North Reading; Jeanne M. Kelly and her husband, Donald of Fairport, N.Y.; Laurie W. Holt and her husband, David of Greensboro, N.C.; Beth A. Tilden and her husband, Steven of Haverhill; Robert A. Williams and his wife, Stacy of Haverhill; and nine grandchildren, Christine and Ryan Neals, Kathryn, Jeremy and Jessa Kelly, Benjamin and Julia Holt, Jonathan and Alex Tilden. He is also survived by two brothers, John G. and wife, Phyllis Williams and James H. and wife, Connie Williams; a sister, Norma A. Riley; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Williams, all of Haverhill; a brother-in-law, John F. Cashman of Belmont, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard A. Williams of Haverhill; sister, Katherine E. Cashman of Belmont, N.H., and brother-in-law, John C. Riley of Haverhill, Mass.
Private services will be held through Saint James Parish, Haverhill, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
