Robert G. Tremblay

1943 - 2016

DRACUT – Mr. Robert G. Tremblay, age 73, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2016, at the Lowell General Hospital, with his loving husband Paul S. Landry by his side.

Born in Salem, MA on May 13, 1943, he was a son of the late Adrien and Irene (Gauvin) Tremblay.

Following his elementary and high school education, he enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1961.  He was assigned to the Dreux-Louvilliers Air Force Base in France as a Chaplain Service Specialist until his honorable discharge in 1965.

Upon his discharge, Bob chose to remain in France to continue studying piano, which had always been a lifelong dream of his, under the tutelage of Anne Marie Huvey.  For ten years, he studied, played and taught piano for up to twelve hours per day at the Dreux Music Conservatory in France.

He returned to the United States in 1974 and began his education in accounting and finance and graduated from Salem State University with a BSBA degree.

His career path began at Budget Car Rental, The Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance, The YMCA and prior to his illness he was employed by Community Teamwork Inc.

Bob was a quiet person who truly enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing his Baby Grand Piano, gardening and vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine.

Surviving him in addition to his husband, and the love of his life, Paul S. Landry of Dracut, are a brother and sister in law, Daniel and Joan Tremblay of Salem, MA; and nieces and nephews.  Robert is also survived by his extended family, Craig and Christine McGowan and their family of East Sandwich, MA and Paul and Denise Johnson and their family of Stow, MA.

TREMBLAY – Mr. Robert G. Tremblay. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of his life on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough.  Those wishing may make a memorial donation in his name to CTI, c/o Leanne George, 155 Merrimack St., Lowell, MA 01852.
