Loving father, grandfather and brother.

 

NEWARK, OH – Richard J. Veillette, age 71, a former resident of Lowell, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Newark, Ohio, with his loving family by his side.  He was the former husband of the late Ann (Marcouillier) Veillette.

Born in Lowell on October 11, 1946, he was a son of the late Roland J. and Leda M. (Hebert) Veillette.

Richard was educated in the Lowell School system and then enlisted into the U.S. Army serving from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1967, having earned the rank of Sergeant. 

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Value City as a computer programmer. 

Richard enjoyed reading, animals and most of all spending time with his family.

Surviving him are three daughters and son in law, Melinda and Scott Grassette of Newark, OH, Tracy Erickson and Kimberly Miller both of Havelock, NC; his grandchildren, Shawn, Kalynn, Megan, Jody, Leda, Sabryna, Dylan and Tyler; four great grandchildren, Shawn, Shane, Eric and Haven; three brothers and a sister in law, Jean-Paul Veillette and his wife Carol of MO, William B. Veillette and Bruce E. Veillette of Lowell; two sisters, Jacqueline M. Veillette and Norma J. Veillette both of Lowell; his aunts and uncles, Henry J. and Janet Hebert, Charles and Pauline Panagakos; also several nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Roland H.J. Veillette, Sr. and Henry “Hank” J. Veillette and grandfather of the late Shane.

VEILLETTE – Richard J. Veillette, age 71, a resident of Newark, OH and a former resident of Lowell, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. at the R.W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell.  A committal service with military honors will take place on Monday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090.
