LEO P. COTE

LOWELL – Leo P. Cote, 55, a resident of Lowell, died peacefully at Heritage Nursing Care Center on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 after a courageous 7-month battle with brain cancer.

Born in Lowell on December 20, 1960, the son of Louis and Doris (Beauchesne) Cote of Lowell.  He attended Lowell schools, and graduated from Greater Lowell Vocational Technical School.

Leo loved playing drums, Stevie Nicks, Aerosmith, and the outdoors.  When at concerts, he always managed to get back stage and as a young child and teenager he drove his mother crazy playing his drums in the basement.
In 1996 he moved to South Carolina and a few years later to Georgia.  During his time there, he worked in construction where he honed his skills as an electrician and carpenter.

Leo was a restive soul who, upon his return to Massachusetts in 2014, could be spotted around the City of Lowell either walking or riding his bike.  One of his favorite places was down by the Merrimack River.  Throughout his life time, it could be said that Leo easily made friends and was always the consummate gentleman.

Leo is survived by his father and mother, Louis and Doris (Beauchesne) Cote; three sisters, Denise Beaudry, Marie Jeanne (Mudd) Toy, and Michelle Moran all of Lowell.  He also leaves behind six nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews.  In addition, Leo is survived by his Godmother, Yvette Goyette, several aunts, and numerous cousins.
Leo was predeceased by his sister Louise I. Paquin who passed in September 2015.

The Cote Family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the third floor staff at Heritage Nursing Care Center.
