resident of Tyngsborough; age 73

Ms. Helen (Mason) Matte, age 73, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, died in Nashua, NH on August 20, 2016, with her family by her side. 

Born in Carlisle, MA on April 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Philbrick) Mason.

She was educated in the Billerica school system . Helen enjoyed pets, traveling and volunteering for many organizations in Tyngsborough.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bus driver for the Greater Lowell Technical High School.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters in law, Roger R. and Jeannette Matte of Northport, FL, Thomas A. and Janet Matte of Hudson, NH and David W. Matte and his significant other Judy Campbell of Manchester, NH; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister in law, Robert “Bob” Mason of Lunenburg, MA and Richard and Debra Mason of N.H.

She also leaves her longtime companion, Everette “Ed” Hatch of Tyngsborough.

MATTE – died in Nashua on Saturday, August 20.  Ms. Helen (Mason) Matte, age 73, a resident of Tyngsborough.  Relatives and friends may call at the ROLAND W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 6-8p.m.  Funeral Thursday morning with a service  to be held in the Funeral Home at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
