MELBOURNE, FL - Gertrude (Fontaine) (Gauthier) Champagne, age 92, a resident of Melbourne, FL and formerly of Lowell, died peacefully on April 21, 2016, surrounded by family.  She was predeceased by her first husband Ernest A. Gauthier and also by her second husband Rodolphe Champagne.

She was born in Lowell, Ma October 11, 1923 and was one of 10 children of the late Henry and Flore (Arneault) Fontaine.

She retired from the former Wang Laboratories, prior to moving to Melbourne, FL.

Gertrude was an avid Bingo Player and enjoyed several craft and art classes. She also cherished time with her loving family.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Gloria and Robert Olsen of Melbourne, FL; two sons and daughters in law, Dennis and Renee Gauthier of Hilton Head, SC, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Ronald and Deborah Gauthier of Vero Beach, FL; four grandchildren: Christine Hendren and her husband Jason, Amy Olsen, Erica Gauthier Proulx, and Edmond Gauthier and his wife Jennifer;  four great grandchildren; Jessica Proulx, Ashley Gauthier, Garrett and Olivia Hendren; also many nieces and nephews.

CHAMPAGNE – Gertrude (Fontaine) (Gauthier) Champagne.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. in St Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.  Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.  Arrangements by the ROLAND W.
