Carol J. (Sarantakis) Degan resident of Lowell; age 76

LOWELL - Mrs. Carol J. Degan, age 76, a resident of Lowell and Apollo Beach, FL, died peacefully in her sleep on September 4, 2015. Carol grew up in Lowell, attended area schools, raised a family and then spent several years in Apollo Beach, Florida before returning to Lowell. She was a fantastic cook, taking time to make her favorite Greek dishes on special occasions for family and friends. Carol loved to dance and was often the life of the party. She especially loved the ocean, spending many summers camping with her family at Salisbury Beach State Park. Of all her loves, the one that stands out the most is the love for her family. They would always come first. Carol is pre-deceased by her parents Paul and Ruth Sarantakis of Lowell. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Degan of Lowell; a daughter and son in law, Patricia and Michael Gianino of Newton, NH; three sons and two daughters in law, James and Beverly Cardoza of Jaffrey, NH, John of Deerfield Beach, FL and Lee and Ann Cardoza of Lowell; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, two from Tyngsborough and one from Saugus, two brothers, both of whom live in Florida, one from New Port Richey and the other from Naples.

DEGAN – In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Her immediate family will gather privately to honor her.
