resident of Dracut; age 84

DRACUT – Mrs. Anita P. (Tellier) Matte, age 84, a longtime resident of Dracut, died on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Robert J. Matte who died in 2009. 

Born in Lowell, on September 19, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Philippe and Emiliana (Gagnon) Tellier.

She was educated in the Lowell school system and was a parishioner of Ste Marguerite D’Youville Parish in Dracut.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in the accounting department at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.

Anita enjoyed gardening in her yard and caring for flowers.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Jo Ann E. and Richard D. Ouellette of Dracut; her loving granddaughter, Kerri A. Ouellette of Dracut; two brothers and two sisters in law, John and Nancy Tellier of Meredith, NH and Richard and Joanne Tellier of Pelham, NH; five sisters and a brother in law, Jeannette Therriault of Lowell, Mariette and Clarence Marhefka of Westford, Jeanne Midgley of Chelmsford, Therese Perin of FL and Rachel Ferris of Merrimack, NH; a sister in law, Cecile Tellier of Pelham; also several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Robert Tellier and Lucille Bourassa.

MATTE – died in Lowell on Nov. 28th.  Mrs. Anita P. (Tellier) Matte, age 84, a resident of Dracut and wife of the late Robert J. Matte.  Relatives and friends may call at the ROLAND W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 308 Pawtucket Street, Lowell on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in Ste Marguerite D’Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
