Mr. Albert R. Boucher, age 80, a longtime resident of Lowell, died on Sunday evening, May 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness. 

Born in Lowell, on May 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Alfred and M. Margaret (Leblanc) Boucher.

He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Army as a Tank Driver in Company A 899 Tank Battalion.

Albert was a longtime employee for the City of Lowell Ashes and Waste Department and the D. P.W. as a night watchman.

He was an avid reader and a Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Albert is survived by five children and their families, Cheryl Boucher, Jean Boucher and her husband John Poitras, Robin Boucher, Donald Boucher and his wife Laurie and Christopher Boucher and his wife Anne; and a sister and brother in law, Louise and Roland Daigle of Chelmsford.

He was also the father of the late Mark Boucher.
